Overview
The POWLSOJX SY Series solar charge controller is designed for 12V/24V/36V/48V battery systems with automatic recognition, supporting lead-acid (Sealed/Gel/Flooded) and lithium (LiFePO4) batteries. It features a large backlit LCD, dual 5V USB outputs, and an aluminum alloy backplane for heat dissipation and ventilation.
This controller uses Focusing MPPT technology (high-efficiency PWM upgrade). It is not a step-down (buck) MPPT transformer and cannot step down high PV voltage to charge a low-voltage battery. Solar panel voltage must be matched to the battery voltage range.
Key Features
- Focusing MPPT (PWM upgrade): Automatically detects maximum charging current; stated 10%–30% higher efficiency than ordinary PWM controllers (focusing stops when the battery is fully charged).
- Auto system voltage recognition: 12V / 24V / 36V / 48V.
- Battery compatibility: Sealed, Gel, Flooded, and LiFePO4.
- Dual USB output: 5V / 1.5A * 2.
- Large backlit LCD: Displays multiple parameters and status areas for battery, solar, load, mode control, and normal/fault status.
- Operating modes: Charging (always on), Light control (night on/day off), Light control + delay (countdown timer 1–23 h), Universal control, Manual (button on/off), Timing control, Test (factory use).
- Aluminum alloy construction: Heat dissipation, ventilation, sturdy structure, thermal design; stated waterproof and anti-corrosion.
- Protection functions: Short circuit protection, open circuit protection, reverse protection, overload protection, over-discharge protection, lightning protection, and temperature protection.

PV Voltage Matching Guide (Required)
- For 12V battery: use solar panel 15V - 23V
- For 24V battery: use solar panel 30V - 46V
- For 36V battery: use solar panel 45V - 66V
- For 48V battery: use solar panel 60V - 90V
Do not use a high-voltage panel to charge a low-voltage battery, or the controller may overheat and be damaged.
Installation (Connection Sequence)
- Connect the battery first. The screen should light up. If it does not, check battery voltage (12V battery needs >10V to start).
- Connect the solar panels second. The charging indicator flashes when sunlight is available.
- Connect the DC load (optional) third.
A circuit breaker (air switch) between the controller and the battery is recommended for additional safety. For installation support, contact https://tsolar.top/ or service@tsolar.top.
Troubleshooting (FAQ)
- Screen does not turn on: Check battery wiring. Minimum activation voltage: 12V system >10V, 24V system >20V.
- Solar panel not charging: Check PV cables for reverse connection or loose wiring. Ensure panel voltage is within the correct range for the battery.
- Load indicator flashing: Slow flashing indicates overload (reduce load power). Fast flashing indicates short circuit protection (remove the short circuit).
