Working Modes

  • Charging mode: in any case, never discharge
  • Light control mode: when nights are detected, delay 10 minutes then start to discharge; when daytime is detected, delay 10 minutes then stop discharging
  • Light and time delay control mode: when nights are detected, delay 10 minutes then start to discharge and count down; when timer reaches zero, discharge stops; longest duration 23:59
  • Universal control mode: under trouble-free condition, always keep discharging
  • Manual control mode: uses “▼” for discharging or not
  • Timing control mode: opens or closes the discharge regularly
  • Test mode: same as light and time delay control mode but without the 10-minute time delay
  • Low voltage protection note: the controller can still discharge under low voltage protection by touch-holding “▼” for 5 seconds; discharge is only stopped by hand (warning provided: this may damage the battery)

Wiring, Setup & Precautions

  • Connection order note: the battery must be connected first.
  • Wiring order statement: connect to the battery first, then connect the PV plate, then connect the DC load.
  • Battery voltage thresholds for correct identification (first wiring ensures): 12V battery > 10V; 24V battery > 20V; 36V battery > 30V; 48V battery > 42V.
  • Solar panel voltage ranges stated in purchase instructions: charge 12V battery with 15-23V solar panel; 24V battery with 30-46V solar panel; 36V battery with 45-66V solar panel; 48V battery with 60-90V solar panel.
  • Warning stated: do not charge 12V batteries with 24V/36V/48V solar panels; if the pressure difference is too large, the controller may be damaged by overheating.
  • Installation notes stated: install as close to the battery as possible to avoid voltage drop caused by long wires; install on a flat, well-ventilated surface because heat is generated during operation.
  • Charging source note stated: only use the photovoltaic board as the charging source; do not use DC or other power supply as the charging source.
  • Battery note stated: suitable for lithium batteries and various lead-acid batteries (including openings, seals, colloids, etc.); lithium batteries require manual adjustment of overcharging voltage; do not use other batteries (nickel-metal hydride batteries, etc.).
